Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation

FCAS

This is a Spanish cooperation instrument with the objective of granting aid that is fundamentally non-repayable and, where applicable, loans aimed at financing projects in the areas of water and sanitation, under a system of co-financing with Latin American and Caribbean national authorities.

Actions that can be financed: infrastructure for access to potable water, infrastructure for access to basic sanitation services, activities aimed at strengthening the institutional system for the management of the water sector and its sustainability and projects that favour integrated water management.

Potential applicants: public administrations and civil society organisations of member countries.

Application submissions: processed directly at the Technical Office for Cooperation (OTC) that the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID) has in each country.

Formalisation: ICO formalises the corresponding loan agreements.
