Technical Engineer in Computer Systems from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, specialist in Java architecture and open systems, with more than 25 years of experience in the technological field and more than 20 years in the public financial sector.
She is currently Head of Information Systems at Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO), a position she has held since 2020. In this role, she leads the bank's technology, digital and data strategy, ensuring its alignment with the corporate strategy and contributing to the operational efficiency, technological resilience and digital transformation of the national promotional bank.
She is responsible for the overall running of ICO's IT systems, including the definition of the technology strategy, the governance of the system, platform and application architecture, as well as the supervision of the portfolio of technology projects and services and the management of the entity's ecosystem of technology providers.
The following organisational units are under her responsibility: the Software Engineering and Data Intelligence Department, the Digital Solutions Unit and the Platforms Unit.
Her main responsibilities include the definition and execution of ICO's technology, digital and data strategy, as well as the governance of the system and platform architecture of systems to ensure interoperability, scalability and risk control. She must also establish the data governance framework, get impetus to process digitisation and automation, lead the continuity of IT services, cybersecurity and technological resilience, direct the portfolio of technology projects and services, and define the key performance indicators (KPIs) of the technology and data function, supervising their correct development.
She joined ICO in 2003 as an applications technician, participating in the development of key systems for the entity, including the ICO extranet for relations with financial institutions, financial risk management applications, SWIFT communications, information interconnection systems,technological modernisation processes and the migration of host systems to Java architectures.
Prior to joining ICO, she pursued a career in the field of technology and internet development. She began her career in 1998, developing management applications for stock exchange operators and industrial automation systems. From 2000 onwards, she was involved in pioneering internet projects, including the development of web portals, e-banking platforms and B2B e-commerce solutions.
