ICO, as a credit institution, carries out its activity with one main objective: the promotion of economic activities that contribute to sustainable growth, the generation of employment and the distribution of wealth.
ICO finances directly, or through financial institutions, projects that promote the ecological transition and the environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability of the business fabric.
The purpose of the operations to be financed focuses, among others, on sustainable mobility; development of renewable energies, renewable hydrogen; energy efficiency; circular economy; water treatment; improvement of energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings; improvement of accessibility in buildings/housing; urban and rural regeneration and renovation; transport, hospital, elderly or educational infrastructure projects with public and private companies; and construction and rehabilitation of social or affordable housing.
ICO's activity is thus aligned with both the climate and energy objectives of the Government's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and with the ESG sustainability objectives established by the United Nations in the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreements (COP21).
Initiative aimed at the development of a sustainable business fabric, by raising awareness among SMEs of the opportunities offered by the achievement of the SDGs and the importance of aligning their strategies with them.
