Pedro Berlinches Vizcaíno
Head of Housing and Specialised Financing
Pedro Berlinches has over 35 years’ professional experience in banking, insurance and property asset management, with a career marked by roles as Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director at leading organisations in the financial sector.
His most recent roles include, in particular, Managing Director of Aliseda Servicios de Gestión Inmobiliaria – a real estate asset manager that emerged from the integration of Banco Popular’s real estate business – where he came to manage a portfolio of nearly €30 billion in assets and more than 400 employees nationwide.
Previously, at Banco Popular Español, he held various senior positions, including Deputy Managing Director of the Specialised Business Division and Head of the International and Corporate Risk and Global Risk Management Division.
His career also includes serving as Managing Director of Eurovida (an insurance company) and Europensiones (a pension fund manager), where he jointly managed more than €1 billion in premiums and €5 billion in pension funds, as well as heading the Investment Banking division at Banco Popular.
Over the past two years, Pedro Berlinches has worked with the ICO itself as a regional adviser for the Community of Madrid, providing technical support for the financing of SMEs, mid-caps and large companies, which has given him first-hand insight into the organisation’s operations and products.
He holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the Autonomous University of Madrid, has completed the IESE General Management Programme (PDG), holds a Master’s in Finance from CUNEF and is a certified Financial Adviser, amongst other complementary qualifications.
