- The investment will be made through Fond-ICO Crecimiento, with the aim of boosting Tucuvi’s presence in various markets, continuing to deliver value to its existing customers and maintaining its leadership in the development of new artificial intelligence solutions for the healthcare sector.
- The funding will enable the company to enhance its AI-powered care management platform, which is designed to expand care capacity and improve patient care. Through this initiative, Axis is reinforcing its commitment to innovative technological solutions that contribute to greater efficiency and operational capacity within the healthcare system, with a particular focus on the elderly.
AXIS, the ICO’s venture capital arm, has approved an investment of €5 million in Tucuvi Care, S.L., a Spanish company specialising in conversational artificial intelligence certified for the clinical monitoring of patients. The investment, channelled through Fond-ICO Crecimiento, reinforces the ICO Group’s commitment to innovation in digital health and care for the elderly.
Tucuvi Care is currently one of the most advanced solutions in Europe for regulated conversational AI in clinical monitoring. Tucuvi develops artificial intelligence solutions specialising in healthcare to help organisations expand their care capacity. Its platform, which includes LOLA®, its voice agent, enables the automation and scaling of clinical and operational processes by engaging in conversations with patients, identifying situations that require intervention and coordinating the next steps with healthcare teams. Tucuvi holds CE Class IIb certification. Its technology is used by more than 80 healthcare organisations, and the company works with five of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
The Tucuvi project is backed by investors such as Cathay Innovation, Leadwind, Seaya, Frontline and Shilling. The investment from Fond-ICO Crecimiento will strengthen the company’s ability to consolidate its technological leadership in regulated AI applied to the healthcare sector.
The investment will enable Tucuvi to expand its presence in various markets, continue to grow alongside its existing clients and remain at the forefront of the development of new artificial intelligence solutions that address the challenges faced by healthcare organisations. It will also strengthen its capacity to expand its strategic partnerships with hospitals, healthcare systems and pharmaceutical companies. This international expansion is underpinned by a favourable regulatory framework that promotes interoperability and automation through AI in healthcare systems.
This transaction supports Axis’s strategy of backing technology companies with a significant economic and social impact, particularly in key sectors such as healthcare and care for the elderly. The development of innovative solutions that help to enhance the efficiency and capacity of the healthcare system is particularly important given the rise in chronic conditions requiring monitoring and the ageing population.
