21 October 2025

  • This is the fourth agreement reached between ICO and Banco Sabadell's Miami subsidiary within the framework of the ICO International Channel Line
  • With an amount of 200 million dollars, the agreement gives continuity to the public-private collaboration that both entities have held for years to finance the activity and investment of companies linked to Spain in the United States and Latin America
  • The agreement bolsters the promotion of sustainable project financing in line with the Spanish Government's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan

Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) has signed a new financing agreement with Banco de Sabadell, S.A., Miami Branch, (Sabadell Miami Branch) within the framework of the ICO International Channel Facility. This is the fourth such agreement reached between the two entities in the last seven years.

With an amount of 200 million dollars, the new financing will enable the continuity of this relationship and support the projects and investments of companies with Spanish interests that do business in the US and Latin America.

Projects for a green and digital transition

Likewise, the agreement reached between ICO and Sabadell Miami Branch reinforces the financial promotion of projects with a sustainability component, in accordance with the role played by the Institute at the European level as a developer of sustainable finance and in compliance with the Institute's economic policy objectives set out in the Spanish Government's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

In addition, ICO will channel financial resources to promote the digitisation of the target companies and financially support projects of this type as one of the main vectors for promoting competitiveness, productivity, sustainable economic growth and job creation. With this, ICO maintains its backing of the SME Digitalisation Plan 2021-2025.

ICO - Sabadell: a long-standing, ongoing relationship

To date, through the previous financing agreements between ICO and Sabadell Miami Branch, more than 70 projects have been financed for an amount of 363 million euros, ranging from different activity sectors, including construction, commerce and energy.

It is well worth noting the capillarity of the funds made available by Sabadell Miami Branch, an entity that acts as a financial bridge between Spain and the Americas, offering comprehensive support to Spanish companies in their internationalisation process. The target country for the investments is mainly the USA, although there are also operations in other countries such as Mexico, Peru and Ecuador.

Since the launch of the International Channel Facility, ICO has signed financing agreements with other entities of the group located in other countries, such as Mexico and Morocco, which have consolidated the public-private collaboration between ICO and the Banco Sabadell Group.
