Javier Sánchez Fuentefría is a career civil servant in the Cuerpo Superior de Interventores y Auditores del Estado [Senior Corps of State Comptrollers and Auditors] and on leave of absence from the Cuerpo Técnico de Auditoría y Contabilidad y Técnico de Hacienda [Technical Corps of Audit and Accounting and Treasury Technician].
Degree in Economics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Master's Degree in Public Management, from the Instituto de Estudios Fiscales and the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI Business School) and Diploma in National Defence, from the Centro Superior de Estudios de la Defensa (Centre for National Defence Studies).
Before he was appointed Director-General of Budgets at the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, he held the position of Director-General of Organisation and Inspection at the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda.
In addition, during his more than 25 years of work in the Public Administration, he has held different positions in the areas of budgeting and control of the economic-financial management of the Public Sector, both in the State Secretariat for Budgets and Expenditure and in the General Intervention of the State Administration.
